The California Wellness Foundation recognized the potential of the CAIPM Preventive Medicine model to improve the health of the citizens of California. They generously underwrote development of the CAIPM business plan we are presenting to charitable foundations to obtain needed funding.
Charitable Foundations' interests parallel those of CAIPM:- Improving the health and well being of Californians
- Making preventive services widely available and bypassing the barriers of accessibility, cost and language
- Improving primary care medical practice
CAIPM provides a medical model that makes preventive services available to all Californians and establishes preventive medicine as a new platform for primary care. This is not a new model, but rather a proven, well developed, and heavily tested approach. Features of CAIPM that charitable foundations will find of interest include:- CAIPM is a non-profit organization
- A comprehensive medical evaluation is provided routinely
- Risk abatement services
- Identification and treatment of emotional trauma
- Parenting skills and family development skills
- Risk analysis of adolescents
- Services provided in three languages--English, Spanish and Vietnamese
- CAIPM controls health care costs by treating causes rather than symptoms
- CAIPM's goal is to make preventive services available to every Californian
